Derek qualified in 1998 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is an experienced, forward-thinking dentist committed to providing high-quality dental care to all his clients. He has continued to grow our highly successful practice, since taking over in 2003, when we became Christchurch Dental.
He has passionately sought further learning under the guidance of internationally renowned dentists and specialists in the UK and the USA, in order to provide the best level of care for clients.
Derek studied dental implantology in 2006 at the Eastman Dental Institute in London, so he would be able to replace missing teeth with implants – a fantastic long-lasting alternative to dentures. He is thrilled to be able to offer this life-changing treatment option to our clients.
Derek has received advanced training in minor oral surgery and sedation, he has also passed his Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng).
He is committed to continually improving his knowledge and skills so he can remain at the forefront of new enhancements and techniques to provide you with the best results and service possible.
As a testament to the excellence of his work, Derek has a loyal client base. He is known for his quiet, calm and gentle demeanour and this is greatly appreciated by nervous clients.
