I love working for Christchurch and one of the reasons I like it so much, is that the clinicians here really do care. I have worked in the dental industry for 20 years (that makes me feel very old) and the clinicians really do go above and beyond for all their clients to an extent that is rarely seen. I am so proud to be a part of that. I never hesitate to recommend the clinicians here because I truly know that they are doing their very best.
You don’t get many dentists calling you in the evening to check that you’re ok after having some dental treatment earlier that day and you don’t get many dentists that stay behind after hours to discuss your diagnosis and treatment plans. You might have only one set of eyes looking at you whilst you’re in the dental chair, but it doesn’t stop there, they discuss all cases a couple of times a week and work together to deliver the best possible care for you. This level of care extends through the whole team, we have a meeting at the beginning of every morning to discuss the day ahead and the clients we are seeing so that we are prepared for you all. You aren’t just a number to us; you are an individual who we want to do our very best for.
Going forward we want to use this team approach when it comes to treating you.
At present, during your examination and dental treatment you will have been used to one clinician, either Derek or Ash, alongside our hygiene team, we are moving towards a multidisciplinary team with an integrated approach. Our clinicians have key areas of expertise, and this integrated approach will enable us to draw on the different expertise of each clinician.
An example is Derek has his Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and has been placing implants since 2006. Ash is passionate about restorative dentistry and is a lecturer in this discipline at Kings College London.
You will be booked with the most appropriate clinician to give you the very best outcome.
We appreciate that you may have become accustomed to only seeing your preferred clinician, however, please be assured that appropriate treatment is discussed between clinicians, and they have been trained to work together to the highest Christchurch standards. When your annual dental health review is due, you will be booked with the clinician that has the appropriate availability.
At Christchurch we want to achieve excellent health, functional and aesthetic results for all our clients, this multidisciplinary approach will allow us to provide our clients with personal treatment plans and the best possible care. Remember, that although you might only be seeing one clinician to complete your treatment, each individual case will have been discussed in detail with at least one other clinician after hours and again on the day that you are due to visit us.
I am so proud of the whole team here at Christchurch with the passion that they have in their work and the exceptional care that they deliver. It makes my job more enjoyable, and I am honoured to manage a team with such standards.
